What People Are Saying

"Linda painted portraits of our two children when they were aged around 10 and 8. They are now wonderful representations of how they looked then, catching perfectly their expressions. It is a pleasure to have them now when they are adults...a very worthwhile investment!"
Evelyn Burke O'Neill

"An important family milestone was coming up and I wanted to mark the occasion by commissioning a portrait. I chose Linda for the job because I'd seen her work online. She is such a talented artist and I love that her charcoal sketches are so true to form and lifelike. The whole process was so easy, Linda kept in touch with me regularly and the artwork was delivered to my door safely, within our agreed time frame. We are delighted with our finished pieces!"
Celine Byrne

"I commissioned a piece from Linda as a gift for my husband who is very ill with cancer. The photo we gave Linda was of us both taken before cancer entered our lives. Linda captured our souls, our personalities and the fun we had the night it was taken surrounded by special friends. The piece is so special to us- we love it. Linda is an amazing artist and her attention to detail is breathtaking. I have no hesitation recommending Linda if you want to give a gift that is truly unique. I will be ordering from Linda again."
Elaine O'Connor

"I was looking for a 'forever portrait' of me and my mum, and after some research and advice from other satisfied customers I decided to give the commission to Linda. I was not disappointed as the finished work was top class. Linda's work actually contains soul which is pretty hard to accomplish and I'm so happy to have this piece for the rest of my life. Thanks again Linda."
John Deegan

"Linda, we would like to thank you for producing such masterpieces- we couldn't have imagined that they would turn out this good! Wishing you all the very best in the future!"
Michael O'Reilly

"I heard of Linda's work through a good friend of mine. My brother died of cancer during the pandemic, his wife is an artist herself and I wanted to give her something she would cherish. I commissioned Linda to do a drawing of my beautiful brother's face and I gave it to my sister-in-law for Christmas. Linda drew every line of my beautiful brother's face, captured his kindness and joy and presence better than any photograph could ever do. I can't say enough about Linda's ability to capture beauty, peace, sadness in her drawings. It is a very special tribute to my brother."

Portrait Commissions

Being an avid ‘people-watcher,’ I have a particular affinity for drawing and painting faces! Twenty years ago, I began painting portraits for family and friends. I found the process endlessly fascinating- and still do today. After many years of experimentation, I've now developed my own personal style of contemporary portraiture, and recently I have been experiencing an increasing demand for these special pieces.
Commissioning a portrait is a very personal experience and one that I strive to make interesting and enjoyable too. Typically, I will arrange a meeting with the sitter where I make preliminary sketches and take photographs to work from later. If you would like to have your favourite photo turned into a work of art, that is also an option too.
*PRICING*
Prices vary according to the number of sitters, the size of the painting and the level of detail but as a guide, a "head-and-shoulders" portrait painting with a simple background starts from €400, while a "head-and-shoulders" black and white pencil portrait starts from €250.
" There is a landscape contained in a face, a soul behind a pair of eyes, and levels of ambiguity in a gesture."
